วันนี้BBกำลังเซิร์ซข้อมูลสำหรับทำเว็บอยู่ ก็ไปเจอกับสำนวนฝรั่งนี้โดยบังเอิญเลยเอามาอธิบายให้ฟังค่ะ
ที่น่าสนใจคือผู้คนได้นำสำนวนนี้ไปใช้กันอย่างหลากหลายเป็นเวลา 100 กว่าปีมาแล้ว !
“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”
มันคือสำนวนที่ใช้สำหรับให้กำลังใจ ทำให้คนมองโลกในแง่ดี และคิดบวก
ให้เกิดทัศนคติที่ว่า ฉันทำได้ [I can do it] ในช่วงเวลาที่เราคิดว่าเลวร้ายหรือยากลำบาก เราก็จะผ่านพ้นมันไปได้นะ

เลม่อนที่มีรสเปรี้ยวจนต้องหลับตาปี๋ นั้นเปรียบเสมือนกับปัญหาในชีวิต ในขณะที่ไอ้น้ำเลม่อนอ่ะมันไม่ได้เปรี้ยวซะทีเดียวนะ ใช่มั้ยล่ะ?
ที่มาของสำนวนเลม่อนนี้มีมาตั้งแต่ปีค.ศ. 1915 โดย Elbert Hubbard ได้เขียนยกย่องเรื่องราวความสำเร็จของนักแสดงแคระคนหนึ่งที่ได้จากโลกนี้ไป ในบทความชื่อ The King of Jesters, praises Wilder’s optimistic attitude and achievements in the face of his disabilities
ส่วนของประโยคในบทความนั้นก็คือ .. He picked up the lemons that Fate had sent him and started a lemonade-stand …
ต้นกำเนิดก็ประมาณนี้
ต่อมาพวกนักเขียนนักอ่านก็พบวลีนี้อีก “If You Have a Lemon, Make a Lemonade.” ในหนังสือที่ Dale Carnegie เขียน ใครชอบหรือติดตามคาร์เนกี้ ตามไปอ่านเอาเอง เรื่อง How to Stop Worrying and Start Living สมัยปี 1948 และ 8ปีก่อนที่จะมีสำนวนนี้ในหนังสือของคาร์เนกี้ (1940) ก็พบบทกวีที่ชื่อ The Optimist นี้ค่ะ

As Life sometimes will do.
His friends looked on in pity,
Assuming he was through.
They came upon him later,
Reclining in the shade
In calm contentment, drinking
A glass of lemonade.”
จนปัจุบันก็ยังมีการนำสำนวนนี้มาใช้กันในพวกเพลงสมัยใหม่เยอะอยู่ อย่างเพลงของ Eminem , Beyonce
ส่วนเพลงนี้ชื่อเพลง I’ll Fly ในการ์ตูนเรื่อง My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic เอาเนื้อร้องมาแปะให้ด้วยค่ะ น่ารักดี
